BP: Stop the ads, send Hayward homeward and put someone in charge we can trust

I apologize for going off topic, but I've been enraged about BP's actions in the Gulf of Mexico--not only its "Three Stooges" approaches to stopping the spill, which now threatens to kill all life in the Gulf, but the idiotic responses from BP CEO Tony Hayward. Hayward is one of the least sympathetic spokespeople ever offered up by a major corporation. In my opinion, he has zero credibility with the U.S. public, yet BP made him the spokesperson in its new series of television commercials. To top it all off, BP hired Dick Cheney's former PR manager to assist it with crisis management. Cheney was the most defensive Vice President since Spiro Agnew, and his PR strategy was to talk to no one except Fox News. Cheney could have had a lead-lined container for a PR manager.

BP needs to stop its advertising campaign right now. Just seeing Hayward talk about everything that BP is doing to protect the environment is infuriating, when the evidence is overwhelming that BP is trying to cover up the damage it's doing.  They also need to get Hayward out of the picture and ship him back to London. He wants his life back; give it to him. In his place, they need to bring in someone from the outside who has high credibility and give that person the power to do whatever it takes to stop the leaks, clean up the oil and restore the environment, no matter what it costs.
